Creating a Smart Link

Step-by-step guide to creating Release Links, Pre-Release Links, and Playlist Links.

Release Link

For music that's already on streaming platforms.

  1. Click New Link and select Release Link.
  2. Your full discography appears, pulled from your connected Spotify profile. Each release shows its artwork and release date. Releases are sorted newest first.
  3. Use the filter field at the top to search by name if you have a large catalog.
  4. Click any release. NotNoise creates the link instantly.

After clicking a release, NotNoise scans Spotify's metadata (ISRC codes) to find that release on other streaming platforms: Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, and 15+ more. All detected platforms are added to your link automatically.

If a platform isn't detected (some smaller platforms take longer to index new releases), you can add it manually in the editor.

If a release already has a Smart Link, it appears greyed out in the picker. You can't create duplicate links for the same release.

Available on all plans. Free accounts can create up to 3 links. Pro, Max, and Team have unlimited links.

Pre-Release Link

For upcoming releases that aren't live on streaming platforms yet. Collect emails and Spotify pre-saves before your track drops.

  1. Click New Link and select Pre-Release Link.
  2. Enter your release title, artist name, and release date.
  3. Upload your cover artwork, or leave it blank and NotNoise will pull it once the release goes live on Spotify.
  4. Your pre-release page is live. Share it to start collecting pre-saves.

The release date controls when the page converts. On that date, NotNoise checks Spotify for the live release, converts the pre-release page to a regular Smart Link (same URL), and fans who pre-saved get the track added to their Spotify library automatically.

Available on Pro, Max, and Team plans.

Playlist Link

For sharing curated playlists.

  1. Click New Link and select Playlist Link.
  2. Paste your playlist URL from Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, or Amazon Music.
  3. Click Create.

NotNoise creates a landing page for that specific playlist. Unlike Release Links, playlists don't exist across platforms with matching IDs, so the link points to the single playlist you pasted. You can add links to the same playlist on other platforms manually in the editor.

Available on all plans.

After creation

Your new link appears in the Smart Links list. From the list, you can:

  • Copy the URL to share it immediately
  • Edit to open the full editor (platforms, design, email capture, tracking pixels)
  • View analytics to see clicks, countries, and platform breakdown
  • Open the link to see what listeners see

When you paste your Smart Link URL into Instagram, Twitter, or iMessage, it shows your artwork and track title as a social card automatically.

Tips

  • Create a link for every release. Each link tracks independently, so you can compare performance across singles and albums.
  • Pre-Release Links convert automatically. The URL stays the same. You don't need to create a new link when the release goes live.
  • The first platform matters. Listeners tend to click the first option. Put your most important platform first. Reorder in the editor.
  • Share it everywhere. Instagram bio, TikTok bio, Twitter, email signature, press kits, flyers. One link works for all of them.
