Distribution troubleshooting
Quick fixes for release delivery, metadata rejections, takedowns, and audio validation.
Quick fixes for the most common distribution and delivery snags. If your issue is not listed, or a fix does not resolve it, email support@notnoise.co with your release link and we will investigate.
I can't find my artist on Spotify
Make sure your music is distributed to Spotify and the release is live. If your artist name has special characters, try searching with the exact spelling. If you still can't find it, contact support with your Spotify artist URL.
My release is stuck in delivery
Most DSPs are live within 24 to 48 hours of submission. Smaller and regional DSPs can take up to 2 weeks. If your release is still showing In delivery after 72 hours on the major DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music), contact support@notnoise.co with your release URL and we'll investigate.
Spotify rejected my metadata
Common reasons:
- Title in ALL CAPS.
- Featured artists listed in the title field instead of the Featured Artist field.
- Emoji or non-standard punctuation in the title.
- Low-resolution artwork (under 3000 x 3000).
NotNoise pulls the rejection reason from Spotify into your release status. Open the release in Releases to see the specific issue, then fix and resubmit.
My takedown is taking too long
DSPs take different amounts of time to process takedowns. Spotify and Apple Music are usually 1 to 7 days. YouTube Music can take up to 14 days because the audio may also be in fan-uploaded videos. Smaller and regional DSPs can take 1 to 4 weeks. NotNoise sends the takedown request immediately, but the DSPs control the actual removal. If a takedown is over the expected window, contact support@notnoise.co.
My audio file failed validation
Common reasons:
- File format not WAV or FLAC.
- Sample rate below 44.1 kHz.
- Bit depth below 16-bit.
- Audio clipping (peaks above 0 dBFS).
- Mono file submitted as stereo, or vice versa.
- File size exceeds the upload limit.
NotNoise shows the specific failure inline during upload. Fix the file in your DAW and re-upload.
