Smart Link analytics
See how your Smart Links perform: clicks, platforms, countries, trends.
What's tracked
Total clicks
How many times your link was clicked. This counts every click, including repeat visitors.
Unique visitors
Individual people who visited your link. If the same person clicks twice, it counts as 2 total clicks but 1 unique visitor.
Clicks by platform
Which streaming service each visitor chose. This tells you where your audience prefers to listen. If 70% of clicks go to Spotify and 15% to Apple Music, you know where to focus your promotion efforts.
Clicks by country
Where your visitors are located. This is especially useful for:
- Deciding where to target Smart Ads campaigns
- Planning which markets to focus Playlist Pitching on
- Understanding where your social media reach is strongest
Clicks over time
A daily trend showing when your link gets traffic. Spikes usually correspond to social media posts, playlist adds, or ad campaigns. Dips tell you when the promotion effect fades.
How to access analytics
- Go to Smart Links in the sidebar.
- Find the link you want to check.
- Click View analytics (the chart icon on the link card).
Analytics are available from the moment the link is created. Data starts populating as soon as someone clicks.
Using analytics to improve promotion
Find your best platform
If most clicks go to Spotify, make Spotify the first platform in your link. Reorder platforms in the editor so the most popular one is at the top.
Find your best market
If a city or country shows unexpectedly high traffic, that's a signal. Consider running a Smart Ads campaign targeting that market, or pitch to playlists popular in that region.
Measure campaign impact
Compare your analytics before, during, and after a promotion:
- Running Smart Ads? Watch for a spike in clicks during the campaign period.
- Just did a Playlist Pitching campaign? See if new playlist placements drive link clicks.
- Posted on Instagram/TikTok? Check if clicks spiked on that day.
Compare releases
Every link tracks independently. Create a link for every release and compare which tracks drive the most engagement. This tells you what resonates with your audience and informs your next release strategy.
Tips
- Check analytics weekly. A quick look at which platforms and countries are trending helps you make smarter promotion decisions.
- Look for patterns, not single data points. One day of high traffic might be an outlier. A week of growth is a trend worth acting on.
- Connect analytics to action. Data without action is just numbers. If a country is growing, target ads there. If a platform is dominant, prioritize it. If a release underperforms, try a different promotion angle.
